Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) was the 26th President of the United States. On May 24, 1904, Mr. Roosevelt gave an inspiring speech to the young men graduating from the prestigious Groton School in Groton, Massachusetts. He encouraged the graduates not to merely rest easily on the laurels of their social and economic privileges, but to become solid, virtuous men who gave their best efforts and served their communities well. His advice and challenge to pursue virtue intentionally serve men and boys well today.
